Free & Affordable Summer Activities

If you are about to declare bankruptcy or have recently declared bankruptcy, you’ve entered a very stressful time in your life and it may feel like you aren’t allowed to have fun or enjoy your summer. But there are a lot of summer activities that you and your loved ones can enjoy without spending a lot of money.

Summer Activities That Are Free Or Lost Cost

Consider one of the following activities if you are looking for something to do one of these summer weekends:

Go For A Nature Walk

Do a search of local state parks in your area and enjoy a day out in nature! Pack a picnic, take a hike, and bring a camera to snap pictures of your fun day outside! But be sure to pack the sunscreen.

Visit Your Public Library

Did you know that the library offers more than just books? Library patrons can take out movies, audiobooks, and can participate in a wide variety of programs hosted by the library. Plus, if you’re looking for someplace quiet to spend some time, the library can be a great place to enjoy your latest book!

Play A Game

Inside or outside, a board game is always a fun way to pass the time. Make it even more interesting by writing down all of your board games on a slip of paper and throwing them into a glass, picking one to play at random. Your entire family will be sure to have fun!

Do Some Cooking (Or Grilling!)grilling in the summer

A good meal always puts everyone in a good mood. Plan a family meal or cookout. If you’ve got kids, help them get involved by letting them make popsicles!

Movie Night

Pick a favorite movie, make a pizza, pop some popcorn, or make ice cream sundaes and settle in for a fun and relaxing night. To make it even more enjoyable, pick a movie series and watch in order!

Visit a Free Museum

Many museums offer days were admission is free or you choose how much you pay. There are also many museums that are free all of the time! Get out of your home and learn something new by visiting these historical places.

Start A Blog

Is there something that you love to do or are really good at doing? Consider writing a blog about it! It doesn’t matter if you end up with a ton of readers, just writing about what you love can be so much fun.

Start A Garden

Seeds are very inexpensive and growing your own food can help to cut back on the grocery bills. Don’t have a yard? You can still start a small garden in containers. Tomatoes, sweet peas, peppers, and many other plants grow very well in a container.

Ride A Bike

Whether you like to get your blood pumping with intense cycling or take a leisurely bike ride, hopping on a bike is always a great idea. With hot summer weather, it might be really enjoyable to take the ride early in the morning or in the evening when it’s a little cooler.

Go Camping

Pack up a tent and some supplies and go to your favorite campsite or explore a new one! Many state parks offer free campsites or low cost campsites where you can disconnect and get away from it all. Be sure to bring your bug spray!

Volunteer

Give back to others in the community by volunteering for a cause that is close to your heart.

Let the law firm handle the stress of dealing with your bankruptcy. Whatever you decide to do, have fun and enjoy the rest of your summer!
